Timothy Jones and Jakub Kuszlik Replay the Famous Paderewski New York Debut, at Bruno Walter Auditorium (Site)
Saturday November 17, 2018, 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeVirtuoso pianist, composer, peacemaker, adviser to presidents, and Prime Minister of Poland, Ignacy Jan Paderewski was an artist who changed the world. The Library for the Performing Arts celebrates Paderewski Days 2018, the 100th anniversary of Polish independence, with a concert revival of Paderewski’s historic New York debut. After an introduction by Paderewski Festival Artistic Director Adam Wibrowski, American pianist Timothy Jones and Polish pianist Jakub Kuszlik perform the exact program Paderewski offered at Madison Square Garden on November 24, 1891, featuring works by Beethoven, Liszt, Schumann, Chopin, and, of course, Paderewski.
