With Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Emma, and other works, Jane Austen charmed her era and ours, while boldly blazing a trail that women writers continue to follow today. At home, it was music that fueled her creativity. She personally sang, played piano, and hand-copied her favorite pieces of music. Now, through an innovative digital archive project at the University of Southampton, Austen’s music library has been shared with the world. The period instrument ensemble Broadwood Junction will perform.
