Gotham Arts is delighted to present a solo piano recital by José Menor at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, Benzaquen Hall in Midtown Manhattan.

A masterpiece of the late-romantic piano repertoire inspired by paintings of Francisco Goya, the Goyescas of Spanish composer Enrique Granados tell the tragic story of two doomed lovers with some of the most evocative and virtuosic music ever conceived for piano — full of drama, romance, and a wide range of intense moods and emotions.

José Menor, a performer of Spanish music as well as an explorer and composer of avant-garde music, is the resident pianist for the Granados Anniversary Years at the Auditori Enric Granados in Lleida, Spain and the Granados Centenary Committee. His interpretations of Spanish music and the Goyescas in particular have garnered widespread critical praise, naming him “the successor of Alicia de Larrocha” and “the great ambassador of Spanish music”.
