Two spectacular rising stars, violinist Geneva Lewis and cellist Gabriel Martins, join our new Artistic Director, Andrew Armstrong, highlighting the violin, cello, and piano in three powerful, expressive solo performances before collaborating for Tchaikovsky’s Trio, which achieves nearly symphonic dimensions. Gabriel celebrates the perfection of Bach’s solo cello writing before Geneva introduces us to the highly personal and persuasive modern voice of Reena Esmail. From there, we get to celebrate the 100th Birthday of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue (which premiered at NYC’s Aeolian Hall on Feb 12, 1924!). After a brief intermission, Tchaikovsky’s Trio will take us through every emotional peak and valley, filling our exquisite Renaissance library with the sounds of 19th-century Russian Romanticism.
