Timo Andres Solo Recital at Carnegie Hall (Site)

Wednesday April 29, 2020, 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Performer
Timo Andres, Piano

What do great composer-pianists do at the keyboard? This question, and others, will be answered when the multifaceted and hugely talented composer-pianist Timo Andres performs. In this daring program, Andres, John Adams, Philip Glass, and others are represented by pieces written for legendary Nonesuch Records President Bob Hurwitz. There’s also Frederic Rzewski’s devastating statement about labor exploitation, Copland’s Piano Sonata—a favorite of Leonard Bernstein—a new work by Gabriella Smith commissioned by Carnegie Hall, and more.
