Die schöne Müllerin: Travis Benoit and Susan Ryder, at Merkin Concert Hall (Site)
Sunday August 24, 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
$20
Travis Benoit has been described as having “a lovely, lyric tenor voice, clear and bright, with great ping, flexibility and carrying power”, by Jane Olian of The Juilliard School Extension Division Vocal Arts department and co-founder and director of Classical Singing and New York in June. This new collaboration of tenor Travis Benoit with accompanist Susan Ryder, separated by more than four decades, is bridged by one common musical passion: Franz Schubert’s Die schöne Müllerin. This performance marks Benoit’s debut at Merkin Hall: Ryder returns after having accompanied former NYC Opera Chorus member, tenor Mukund Marathe, in Die Winterreise.
