Friday September 19, 8:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Chuchito Valdés, born in Havana, Cuba, is the third generation of a legendary Cuban piano dynasty. His grandfather, Bebo Valdés, was a pivotal figure in the golden age of Cuban music, and his father, Chucho Valdés, is the founder of the iconic Afro-Cuban jazz ensemble Irakere. Chuchito, a child prodigy, was classically trained and quickly became known for his dynamic technique and command of Afro-Cuban rhythms. After briefly leading Irakere following his father’s departure, he forged his own path, blending Latin jazz, bebop, danzón, cha-cha-chá, and classical influences into a unique and electrifying style.
Over the years, Chuchito has performed at prestigious venues and festivals around the world, earning a reputation for his high-energy performances and virtuosity. Whether playing in intimate jazz clubs or on grand international stages, his music pulses with the heart of Cuba, infused with elements of funk, classical, and modern jazz. With albums like Encantado, Keys of Latin Jazz, and Reflections, Chuchito continues to innovate while honoring the rich legacy of the Valdés family name.
