Fantine DOUILLY, Soprano
Fantine Douilly is currently completing a Master’s Degree in Vocal Arts at the Juilliard School in New York under the guidance of Darrell Babidge. Hailing from Liévin in northern France, she began her musical journey with percussion and saxophone before embracing Opera while graduating from Sciences Po Lille.
Prior to her studies at The Juilliard School, Fantine worked at the heart of several major cultural institutions, including the regional branch of the Musée du Louvre in Lens and the French extension of the VOCES8 Foundation. These experiences offered her a gateway into the intersection of international relations, public policy and the performing arts, equipping her with valuable skills in artistic project management and cultural leadership. There, she advocated for greater accessibility to the arts across underprivileged communities in Northern France and beyond.
Straddling diverse styles and musical worlds, Fantine has developed an eclectic and expressive approach—from bel canto to contemporary music—marked by a distinctive and captivating stage presence. Through her work, she aims to uphold the essence of opera — artistry, individuality, and emotional authenticity — while advocating for its deeper values: empathy, human connection, and the power of music to inspire change.
