Minsoo Sohn Solo Recital at Carnegie Hall (Site)

Minsoo Sohn has been called “a genuine artist, with a thoughtful and poetic interpretation” (The New York Times). This evening’s recital is Sohn’s first performance as part of a Carnegie Hall concert season, and he marks the occasion in particularly noteworthy fashion: with a complete performance of J. S. Bach’s The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book I. Comprising fugues and preludes in all 24 major and minor keys, the work is a masterpiece of variety and a notorious feat to perform in its entirety. If Sohn’s award-winning Goldberg Variations are any indication, piano fans have enormous cause for excitement.
