Hai-Kyung Suh, the first Korean pianist to win a top prize at the Busoni International Piano Competition in 1980, returns to Carnegie Hall. The program features Gluck’s Melodie from Orfeo ed Euridice (arr. Sgambati); Brahms’ Two Rhapsodies, Op. 79, Six Pieces for Piano, Op. 118, and Variations on a Theme by Paganini, Book II; Liszt’s Transcendental Etude No. 10, “Sonetto del Petrarca No. 104”, and Rhapsodie espagnole; and the world premiere of Jaejoon Ryu’s Valse.
