Ehud Asherie Quartet at Birdland (Site)

Description

Pianist and composer Ehud Asherie, an artist inspired by diverse eras and mingling traditions, has cultivated a unique sound both on the bandstand and in the studio. With a deep commitment to spontaneity, Asherie captivates listeners as he and his quartet navigate syncopated phrases and evolving harmonic landscapes. Lauded as “a master of swing and stride” by The New Yorker, Asherie will present a mix of original works and beloved compositions, joined by frequent collaborators and New York jazz legends Zaid Nasser on Saxophone, Joey Ranieri on Bass and Charles Goold on Drums. This performance promises to be a journey through the vibrant tapestry of jazz, guided by Asherie’s distinct musical voice.
