SUMMARY:Rush Hour Performance: Liszt's Years of Pilgrimage\, at Juilliard School
DESCRIPTION:Rush Hour Performance: Liszt’s Years of Pilgrimage \nVenue \nJuilliard Station \nAdmission \nFREE; no tickets required \nAnnées de pèlerinage (French for Years of Pilgrimage) (S.160\, S.161\, S.162\, S.163) is a set of three suites for solo piano by Franz Liszt. Much of it (the first suite in particular) derives from an earlier work\, Album d’un voyageur\, his first major published piano cycle\, which was composed between 1835 and 1838 and published in 1842.[1] Années de pèlerinage is widely considered as the masterwork and summation of Liszt’s musical style. While the first two offerings are often considered music of a young man\, the third volume is notable as an example of his later style. Composed well after the first two volumes\, it displays less virtuosity and more harmonic experimentation.

SUMMARY:Chopin & Champagne at The Kosciuszko Foundation
DESCRIPTION:Chopin & Champagne \nPerfect date in the Upper East Side.\nVibe: Sentimental / NocturnalSuggested Dress code: Cocktail Attire \n\nMoët & Chandon champagne reception (included with every ticket)\n50 minute piano recital of Chopin’s best known works interspersed with musical anecdotes and stories from the past\n\n\nHistoric salon ambiance\n\nMusic\, Champagne\, Stories.\nJoin us for an evening of romantic music\, fine champagne\, and musical anecdotes. We’ve paired the timeless music of Frédéric Chopin—Parisian musical icon of the 19th century—with an equally timeless brand of champagne. Acclaimed pianist Vladimir Rumyantsev will perform a carefully curated selection of Chopin’s most famous pieces. The brief recital will be interspersed with amusing and revealing insights from the host\, Daniel Zinn. There will be time at the end for audience questions and discussion \nPerfect date\, this concert blends world-class music with engaging conversation and fine champagne.\nPiano: Vladimir Rumyantsev\nVladimir Rumyantsev is an internationally acclaimed pianist\, celebrated for his virtuosity and profound interpretations of the piano’s vast repertoire. His talent emerged early\, and at just seven years old\, he made his debut at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory where he won Moscow’s Glinka competition. \nRumyantsev received his foundational training at the Gnessin Moscow Special School for Music under Mikhail Khokhlov and later studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Sergey Dorensky\, Alexander Bakhchiev\, Elena Sorokina\, Pavel Nersessian\, and Nikolai Lugansky. He earned advanced degrees at the Mannes School of Music in New York under Pavlina Dokovska and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at The Hartt School under the mentorship of Jose Ramos Santana. \nRumyantsev has performed worldwide at such prestigious venues as the Moscow Philharmonic\, Carnegie Hall\, Covent Garden\, the Mariinsky Theatre\, New York City Center\, The Kennedy Center\, the Great Guild in Riga\, the Dzintari Concert Hall\, and the Bolshoi Theatre\, as well as major theaters across China. He has appeared in such renowned festivals as the Golden Mask Festival in Moscow\, the Bermuda Piano Festival\, The Art of Piano Duo in Boston\, IKIF\, and the Mannes Summer Piano Festival in New York. \nHis performances of Shostakovich and Stravinsky Concertos led to collaborations with the Mariinsky Ballet\, under the batons of Valery Gergiev and Boris Gruzin. Rumyantsev’s performances have been revered by the press\, with The New York Times describing his playing of Beethoven’s Diabelli Variations as “excellent\,” and The Wall Street Journal noting his “potent” interpretation. \nIn 2024 he recorded Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Sean Hickey for solo piano\, which was released in early 2025 by Sono Luminus. Praised by Gramophone for his “virtuosity always informed by awareness of resourcefulness and ambiguity\,” Rumyantsev most recently toured the world as a solo artist with Twyla Tharp Dance for her Diamond Jubilee and is producing his own concerts of piano and dance alongside Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre\, Skylar Brandt. \nVladimir Rumyantsev is a Steinway Artist. \nMoët & Chandon Brut has a rich history dating back to 1743\, symbolizing luxury and celebration throughout the centuries. The same era that saw the rise of Romantic composers like Frédéric Chopin also witnessed champagne’s growing popularity among Europe’s elite\, including in Paris\, where Chopin spent much of his life. Just as Chopin’s music evokes elegance\, depth\, and emotion\, Moët Brut represents a refined taste that has been enjoyed during life’s most special moments. Pairing this historic champagne with Chopin’s iconic works connects two legacies of European artistry and sophistication\, enhancing the cultural and sensory experience of the concert. \nFrédéric Chopin (1810–1849) was a Polish composer and pianist\, widely regarded as one of the greatest composers for piano. Known for his delicate touch and poetic expressiveness\, Chopin’s works range from intimate nocturnes and waltzes to powerful polonaises and ballades. His music blends classical form with the folk melodies and dances of his homeland\, creating a deeply personal and emotive style. Though he spent much of his life in Paris\, Chopin’s heart remained tied to Poland\, and his music continues to captivate audiences with its lyrical beauty and technical brilliance. \nDaniel Zinn is a conductor and impresario based in Brooklyn\, known for creating intimate\, engaging concert experiences. With his Fort Greene Orchestra\, Zinn blends classical music with striking visuals and relaxed\, conversational formats\, drawing remarkably young audiences. A violinist from Jerusalem\, he studied under Maestro Aaron Rosand in New York. Now\, through events like Chopin and Champagne\, Zinn redefines the classical concert by presenting world-class music in ways that brings the audience closer to the art and its history.

The system’s construction came with devastating effects. From New York to Chicago\, Miami to Los Angeles\, authorities routed the interstates through centers of cultural and economic activity\, displacing families and decimating businesses. On Indivisible and in performance\, Concurrence delivers this message of tragedy\, remembrance\, and resilience in a cohesive musical voice\, built over two decades of collaboration with acclaimed drummers and percussionists Nasheet Waits\, Tommy Crane\, Marcus Finnie\, Derrek Phillips\, Aaron Smith\, and Giovanni Rodriguez. \nConcurrence first honed their musical voice in the early 2000’s on Nashville\, Tennessee’s Jefferson Street – a northside hub for the city’s Black community that boosted the early careers of Etta James\, Jimi Hendrix\, and Little Richard in the 1950s and 1960s just before Interstate 40 carved up six hundred and twenty homes as well as sixteen entire blocks of businesses in the neighborhood. \nSince their debut\, Concurrence has grown their partnership on bandstands across the United States and Canada touring independently while additionally opening for Cory Henry\, Rebirth Brass Band\, and Alabama Shakes. \nPaul Horton – piano / keyboards/ electronics\nGreg Bryant – bass\nAaron Smith – drums \nThis event is recurring on the following dates:\nFri\, Nov 14 at 11:59 PM\nSat\, Nov 15 at 11:59 PM
