Tribute to the “Father of Polish Opera” at Carnegie Hall (Site)

Stanisław Moniuszko, known as the father of Polish national opera, was a composer of operas and other vocal music in 19th century Poland. This performance includes Moniuszko’s songs and arias in different languages. It is produced and conducted by Janusz Sporek, who has organized concerts of Polish music on all three of Carnegie Hall’s stages, personally conducting several of them and presenting numerous artists. Mr. Sporek celebrates the 20th anniversary of his first performance at Carnegie Hall.
