SUMMARY:Sonnambula With Guests From Juilliard415\, at Juilliard School
DESCRIPTION:Sonnambula With Guests From Juilliard415 \nProgram \nEnjoy a concert with musicologist Elizabeth Weinfield and the early music ensemble Sonnambula\, featuring Juilliard415. \nThis performance is part of Women in Art and Music: An Early Modern Global Conference\, co-hosted by Juilliard and the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts at the National Gallery of Art in Washington\, DC. \nAbout Sonnambula\nSonnambula is a historically informed ensemble that brings to light unknown music for early instruments with the lush sound of the viol at the core. Sonnambula recently held the position of ensemble in residence at The Metropolitan Museum of Art\, where the group curated a site-specific series at The Cloisters. Sonnambula has also worked closely with The Hispanic Society in New York\, designing concerts featuring little-known female composers and American premieres of both 18th-century Cuban sacred music and Spanish zarzuela. The ensemble’s award-winning recording of 17th-century composer Leonora Duarte was released on Centaur Records. \nWatch the performance on this page at the scheduled date and time. This performance won’t be available to stream afterward on demand. \nLead Digital Sponsor: Bloomberg Philanthropies \nJuilliard LIVE was launched in 2021 under the leadership of President Damian Woetzel\, dramatically expanding access for audiences around the world to Juilliard performances through livestreams and on-demand video. Juilliard LIVE streams nearly 700 performances each year\, with new on-demand programs regularly added to the accessible library of content. \nJuilliard’s livestream technology is made possible in part by a gift in honor of President Emeritus Joseph W. Polisi\, building on his legacy of broadening Juilliard’s global reach. \nWe are committed to the highest standards of health and safety for our students\, faculty\, staff\, and guests. See all our latest procedures at juilliard.edu/tickets. \nVenue\nPaul Hall
