DESCRIPTION:New York City’s finest pianists perform most summer weekdays in Bryant Park\, free to the public! Join on the park’s Upper Terrace for a different musician weekly. \n \nA former student of jazz legend Kenny Barron\, Dr. Victor Lin is happy to have been a part of the Piano in Bryant Park series since it began in 2004.  As both a pianist and a violinist\, Victor has performed at venues throughout NYC such as The Blue Note\, Flushing Town Hall\, The Asia Society\, and The Knickerbocker. Victor is currently an instructor at Columbia University and the director of the jazz department at The Calhoun School on the upper west side of Manhattan\, where he has taught for the last 15 years.  With a doctorate in music education from Teachers College and a master’s degree in jazz studies from Rutgers\, Victor is a passionate believer in the power of music performance and education to impact and influence society in a positive manner.
