Assaf Gidron is a composer, musician and sound designer. Based in Brooklyn and originally from Tel Aviv, Assaf studied composition and computer music at Goldsmiths College, London and The Royal Conservatory, The Hague.

He composes electronic and instrumental music often produced through fixed processes that combine harmonic, melodic and temporal material to produce evolving gradations of musical affect. His works have been performed in Europe, the Americas and Middle East by ensembles and performers such as the SEM Ensemble, Asko Schoenberg ensemble, Slagwerk Den Haag, Ensemble Modelo 62, Ensemble Musica Nova, Erik Carlson, Dante Boon. Together with Craig Shepard Assaf co-organized the Music for Contemplation concert series in Brooklyn, seasons 2016-17. Together with Teodora Stepancic, Assaf is half of the curator/performer duo Stepancic.Gidron. Assaf is also active as performer and improviser, playing cello, guitar and electronics, and member of the NYC-area based Love Collective, a group devoted to organizing intimate events playing rarely performed and new works.

Assaf works as a sound designer and mixing engineer for film, television and online. He maintains a long-lasting collaboration with Berlin/L.A based film production outfit Spektakulativ Pictures. www.assafgidron.com
