Join in and sing at Tunes at Thalia, part of the long-running open mics presented at Bar Thalia at Symphony Space, New York City. A full evening of Broadway showtunes, American Songbook favorites, jazz standards, and more awaits you! Bring the song you love to sing or try out that new piece you’ve been working on.
Hostess Arianna Armon (the “Bel Canto and Can Belto” coloratura soprano from The Buxton Gilbert & Sullivan Festival, New York’s Second Act Series, and Ponycon’s “Lady Aria”) will be on mic to guide singers and performers throughout the evening (www.ariannaarmon.com). At the piano will be Rachel Kaufman, who has music directed and/or played for over 200 musicals world-wide, including tours of Rent, Phantom of the Opera, Ain’t Misbehavin’, and Smokey Joe’s Café. Rachel can also be seen playing for auditions, classes, improv comedy groups, at churches, and, during the summer, in the orchestra or atrium on cruise ships.
Signup starts at 6pm, show runs 7pm to 9pm. No cover or minimum, cash and credit accepted. Please bring sheet music already transposed in your preferred key, and bring multiple options to avoid song duplication.
