DESCRIPTION:Acclaimed pianist Philip Edward Fisher returns to Adelphi University’s Westermann Stage with an afternoon of music. \nPerformer\nPhilip Edward Fisher\, concert pianist \nWidely praised for his interpretations of Chopin’s piano compositions\, pianist Philip Edward Fisher returns to the Adelphi PAC to perform 3 of Chopin’s works – Variations Brilliantes\, Fantasie in F minor and Sonata No 2 in B-flat minor. This afternoon of music will also include Haydn’s Fantasia in C Major along with works by Corigliano\, Mompou and Scriabin. \nProgram\nHaydn: Fantasia in C Major\, Hob. XVII:4\nCorigliano: Fantasia On An Ostinato\nMompou: Variations on a theme of Chopin\nScriabin: Sonata No 2 in G-sharp minor (Sonata-Fantasy) \, Op. 19\nChopin: Variations Brilliantes\, Op. 12\nChopin: Fantasie in F minor\, Op. 49\nChopin: Sonata No 2 in B-flat minor\, Op. 35 \nPhilip Edward Fisher is widely recognized as a unique performer of refined style and exceptional versatility. A prolific solo and chamber musician\, he has appeared across his native United Kingdom\, Europe\, Asia\, Africa\, and North and South America. \nThis event will also be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person. \nMr. Fisher has appeared with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra\, Copenhagen Philharmonic\, Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra\, Cabrillo Festival Orchestra\, and the symphonies of Albany\, San Antonio\, Toledo and The Juilliard School\, working with conductors Hannu Lintu\, David Alan Miller\, John Axelrod\, Sebastian Lang-Lessing\, Cristian Măcelaru\, Larry Rachleff\, James Lowe and Giordano Bellincampi. \nMr. Fisher holds degrees from the Royal Academy of Music and The Juilliard School. In 2001\, he was granted the Julius Isserlis Scholarship by the Royal Philharmonic Society of London\, and was elected an associate of the Royal Academy of Music as part of their honours list for 2016.
