DESCRIPTION:A five\, six\, seven\, eight…come on down and swing along to the best ragtime\, stride\, and jazz the Big Apple has to offer. With special performances on select Thursdays and sprinkled spontaneously throughout the season. \nNYC pianist and composer Peter Yarin has been a force on the music scene for the past two decades\, playing solo and in a variety of ensembles\, as well as maintaining a busy career as session musician\, composer and bandleader. Peter’s style combines a classical background with elements of both 1920s and modern jazz influences. \nRecently seen and heard on-camera in HBO’s “Succession”\, “Killers of the Flower Moon” and “Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”; Peter’s recording work has been featured in a host of tv shows and films. Some recent highlights include “Queen’s Gambit” “Don’t Worry Darling\,” “The Pale Blue Eye” and “Joker”. He can be heard with 1920’s jazz orchestra\, Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks on TV’s “Boardwalk Empire” for 5 seasons\, and on the Grammy-winning soundtrack album for the show; Peter performs weekly at Birdland Jazz Club with the Nighthawks on Monday nights.
