For the occasion of his centennial and to commemorate his long history with Birdland\, there will be celebrations for Peterson’s birthday week both at Birdland Jazz Club and the Birdland Theater. \nThe celebrations of Oscar Peterson’s Centennial in the Birdland Theater during his birthday week with performances from acclaimed pianists Robi Botos (August 15)\, Champian Fulton (August 16)\, and Ben Paterson (August 17). Each bringing their own unique style to selections from Peterson’s expansive catalogue\, you will be treated to three unique nights of music highlighting some of today’s exciting pianistic talents while celebrating the legacy of one of their inspirations. Each night the pianists will be joined by Brandi Disterheft on bass and Jim Doxas on drums.
