DESCRIPTION:Between guided tours\, Marble Collegiate Church is inviting the public to enjoy an organ concert performed by Kenneth V. Dake\, Director of Music at Marble Collegiate Church for 27 years. \nMarble Collegiate Church features an Opus 20 Pipe Organ built by Sebastian Gluck\, dedicated in October 2015. The organ has 4 manuals\, 101 ranks\, and nearly 6500 pipes. Lights will be dimmed during the performance so guests can view a live feed featuring the performers’ footwork while playing the organ. \n“It is a “surround sound” instrument\, with 8 separate divisions: the Gallery Organ (back) contains the Great\, Choir\, Swell\, Solo\, and Pedal divisions. The Chancel Organ (front) contains the Apse\, Chancel\, and Chancel Pedal divisions. Scattered throughout those divisions are many colorful solo stops\, including Oboe (Hautboy)\, Clarinet\, Doppelflöte (a wooden flute with two mouths per pipe)\, a Tuba Magna in the style of English Cathedral organs\, etc.”
