DESCRIPTION:Be part of the excitement on opening night and experience the electrifying collaboration of pianist JOHN BEASLEY and tenor Saxophonist CHRIS POTTER as they illuminate the Klavierhaus stage with their exceptional artistry. “As a recording artist and band leader\, Beasley has a dozen albums\, including his big band trilogy of albums MONK’estra which earned six consecutive Grammy nominations and one win. Beasley has been a first-call arranger and conductor for European big bands and has worked for film and TV projects\, including James Bond’s Spectre and Skyfall\, Finding Dory\, Fame\, Star Trek: TNG. Every year for the annual International Jazz Day Global Gala concert\, Beasley steps up to the helm as Music Director for the Herbie Hancock Jazz Institute. In 2024\, Beasley will release a duo and a trio project\, along with three albums with European jazz orchestras featuring original music reimaginations of Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock albums.”
