DESCRIPTION:Piano Four Hands: Ivo Kaltchev and Tania Tachkova\nPartially underwritten by Anna Gueorguieva \nDr. Kaltchev is an active adjudicator and has judged international piano competitions in Europe\, Asia\, Latin America\, and the U.S. Dr. Kaltchev’s students have won more than 100 prizes at international and national piano competitions and have performed with numerous orchestras including I Solisti di Perugia (Italy) and Orquestra De Camara De Cascais E Oeiras (Portugal). His students have been accepted for graduate and undergraduate piano studies at Juilliard\, Peabody\, Eastman\, Manhattan\, Indiana\, San Francisco\, Northwestern\, Mannes\, SUNY Stony Brook\, Roosevelt\, Miami and other leading universities and schools of music in the U.S. \nSteinway Artist Tania Tachkova has been praised by critics for performances that are “white- hot” and “very impressive”. She has performed as a soloist\, in recital\, and in chamber concerts throughout the United States\, Paris (France)\, Dublin (Ireland)\, Sydney (Australia)\, and Auckland and Christchurch (New Zealand) and at venues such as Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall\, Steinway Hall New York\, Wiener Saal at Mozarteum Salzburg\, The Piano (Christchurch)\, Sydney Conservatorium of Music\, Henri Selmer Hall in Paris\, Grand Bulgaria Hall and the National Palace of Culture in Bulgaria\, to name a few. \nHer solo engagements include the Orchestra of the State Academy of Music in Bulgaria\, Shoumen Philharmonic\, Razgrad Philharmonic\, and the Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra. Festival appearances include Aspen Music Festival\, Sarasota Music Festival\, and New Music on the Bayou Summer Festival\, where her duo (duo per se\, with clarinetist Scot Humes)\, has been an ensemble in residence since 2018. Tachkova’s performances have been broadcast on radio and television\, including WQXR\, WITF\, WPRB\, and Bulgarian National Television. Her recordings include critically acclaimed chamber music CDs released by MSR and Centaur Records and extensive solo and four-hand piano repertoire for Steinway Spirio.
