Music for World Peace: Alex Wu and the Millennium Chamber Symphony at Bruno Walter Auditorium (Site)

Saturday May 20, 2017, 2:30 pm

Free

“Creativity is the hardest work there is”   — John F. Kennedy

Millennium Chamber Symphony celebrates the President John F. Kennedy centennial and pays tribute to the artistic leadership of the Kennedy White House, which encouraged Americans to explore and enjoy music in its many forms on a scale larger than any presidency had done before. In doing so, they hoped to focus national attention on the role of  the arts in America and encourage the  development of Washington as a cultural  center. Yamaha Piano artist Alex Wu and the Millennium Chamber Symphony perform music by Aaron Copland,  Leonard Bernstein, Duke Ellington,  Astor Piazolla, and more.

The Library for the Performing Arts is proud to offer free admission to this program on a first come, first served basis.
