$16.50 – $110

Performers
Mahler Chamber Orchestra
Mitsuko Uchida, Piano and Director
Mark Steinberg, Concertmaster and Leader

Pianist Mitsuko Uchida plays and conducts music by two of Austria’s most brilliant composers: Mozart and Webern. The drama and rich orchestral writing of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 made it a favorite of Beethoven and the early Romantic composers. At the other end of the spectrum—and centuries later—Webern’s music is built upon lean, brief, tightly constructed motifs that fuel a uniquely personal dramatic style.

Program
WEBERN Five Movements, Op. 5 (arr. for string orchestra)
MOZART Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major, K. 488
WEBERN Variations for Piano, Op. 27
MOZART Piano Concerto No. 24 in C Minor, K. 491
