DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Introduction to Piano: Beginner (Ages 5-8)\nDate: Sat\, Sept 28th\, 2024-Sat\, Nov. 23rd\, 2024 \nTime: 12:00 PM-12:30 PM & 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM \nLocation: Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning (JCAL) \n  \nIntroduction to Piano is designed for students with little to no prior experience in playing the piano. This course introduces the basics of piano playing\, music theory\, and fundamental techniques necessary to develop foundational piano skills. Through a combination of practical exercises\, repertoire studies\, and music theory lessons\, students will gain the confidence and ability to play simple pieces and understand basic musical concepts. There are two sections to this course\, each is 30 minutes long. \nLearning Objectives: \n1. Piano Technique: Students will learn proper hand posture\, finger placement\, and basic piano techniques essential for producing clear and expressive piano sounds. \n2. Music Reading: Emphasis will be placed on reading music notation in both treble and bass clefs\, including note recognition\, rhythms\, and understanding musical symbols and terms. \n3. Repertoire Development: Students will explore a variety of beginner-level piano pieces\, including classical\, popular\, and folk music\, to develop musicality and technique. \n4. Music Theory Basics: Introduction to fundamental music theory concepts such as scales\, intervals\, chords\, and simple harmonies to understand the structure of music and apply it to piano playing. \n  \nWe can’t wait to see you there! \nJCAL Members get 20% off.
