DESCRIPTION:Pianist Inna Faliks resurrected the spirits of Beethoven and Ravel with her 2021 project Reimagine\, recontextualizing their immortal works alongside contemporary compositions by some of today’s leading voices. The results are an exhilarating blend of old and new\, timeless and timely\, and for this Crypt Session\, the Ukrainian-born American pianist will juxtapose the music of Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit – including its haunting slow movement depicting a body hanging on the gallows – with new works by Paola Prestini\, Timo Andres\, and Billy Childs that draw from the piece.
