SUMMARY:Everything for Dawn Premiere Screening Event at Anthology Film Archives
DESCRIPTION:After four years of planning and production\, we are thrilled to finally share the complete video opera Everything for Dawn! Join for this one-night-only screening of all ten episodes before the full opera is broadcast on All Arts during a 5-week period starting October 7. \nThis screening will be split into three acts of the opera\, with a brief intermission between each act. We encourage you to dress festively for the premiere and come early to join for conversation and celebration. \nEvent Schedule \n\n5:30 – 6:00pm – Red Carpet and Photos\n6:00pm – Start of the Screening (3 parts with brief intermissions between parts)\n9:45pm – End of the Screening\n\nCreated in celebration of our 10th Anniversary\, Everything for Dawn is an original coming-of-age story spanning the 1990s. Dawn is a teenager dealing with the impact of her father’s suicide. Her personal tragedy becomes public when his paintings become celebrated as “outsider art.” With each episode written by a different librettist/composer pairing\, and all under the direction of Alison Moritz\, this epic new video opera series is an examination of the ways we seek solace in a broken world\, community intersectionality\, and the rationale for making art. \nA web streaming series of daring ambition\, Everything for Dawn is the epitome of what Experiments in Opera stands for—fun\, intimate storytelling\, with a strong feeling of an artistic community at work. \nThe team of writers in the EiO Writers’ Room who collaborated on the libretto for Everything for Dawn includes  Jason Cady\, Adrienne Danrich\, Lauren D’Errico\, Krista Knight\, Jerry Lieblich\, and Jerome A. Parker. \nThe ten composers who each wrote a 15-minute episode of the full opera are: Clarice Assad\, Jason Cady\, Melissa Dunphy\, Miguel Frasconi\, Paul Kerekes\, Phil Kline\, Pauline Kim\, Aaron Siegel\, Kamala Sankaram\, and Matthew Welch. \nCAST \nMac Logan\, Aaron Engebreth \nDawn Logan\, Britt Hewitt \nGloria Logan\, Sishel Claverie \nCarla\, Eliza Bonet \nAnya\, Maggie Finnegan \nEd\, Joshua Conyers \nDr. Slade\, Laura Strickling \nJoy\, Meroë Khalia Adeeb \nENSEMBLE \nKarl Larson\, Piano \nTristan Kasten-Krause\, Bass \nMatthew Evans\, Percussion \nHannah Levinson\, Viola \nMaya Bennardo\, Violin \nWill Healy\, Piano \nCREATIVE TEAM \nDirector\, Alison Moritz \nAssociate Director\, Ian Silverman \nDirector of Photography\, Eric Thomas Paton \nAssociate Director of Photography/ Editor\, Travis Ford \nProduction Designer\, Jean Kim \nTechnical Directors\, Steven Brenman and Kya Naugle \nProps Master\, Jessica Smith \nCostume Associate\, Don-yá Ortiz \nProjection Designer\, Michael Redman \nLighting Designer\, Stacey Boggs \nLighting Associate\, Betsy Chester \nMusic Director\, David Bloom \nSound Engineer\, Jeff Cook
