SUMMARY:Beethoven and Strauss at Bloomingdale School of Music
DESCRIPTION:Program Notes \nViolinist Rolf Schulte and pianist Judith Olson present a concert of two major works of the chamber music repertoire. Beethoven’s dramatic and turbulent Violin Sonata in C minor\, written when the composer was forced to accept the inevitability of his deafness. Richard Strauss wrote his last major chamber work\, the Violin Sonata\, at the age of 23. The music is brimming with youthful ardor and passion and was to be his last major chamber piece before he devoted his career to orchestral tone poems and operas. \nPhoto Consent \nBy attending this event\, you consent to the taking of photographs\, audio recordings\, video recordings\, and/or other digital images or recordings during this event by staff\, volunteers\, or outside media.
