DESCRIPTION:About the Concert \nEnjoy an evening of Chamber Music with Vanessa May-lok Lee and Friends performing traditional works for Chamber ensembles as well as the world premiere of Quinsin Nachoff’s “Murmuration.” \nFeaturing \n\nVanessa May-lok Lee\, piano*\nQuinsin Nachoff\, saxophone and composer\nEric Eaton\, cello*\nYe-Jin Han\, violina\nSatoshi Takeishi\, drums\nAimée Niemann\, violin*\nLuis Mercado\, cello*\n\n*denotes Third Street faculty members \nAbout the Artist \nPraised as an artist who “clearly has musicality and confidence in abundance” [Showcase Magazine] Ms. Lee made her Carnegie Hall (Isaac Stern Auditorium) debut in June 2014. Her concert engagements continue to highlight her strong interest in pursuing a wide variety of projects. She has served as the rehearsal pianist for Maestro Vladimir Jurowski and the NY Philharmonic’s performances of Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé\, released four CD’s showcasing her support of music from living composers and has presented a solo project featuring an original narrative in collaboration with puppeteers. Ms. Lee is the Director of the Barbara E. Field Chamber Music Program at Third Street Music School where she joined the Piano and Chamber Music Faculty in 2014. She has served as a faculty pianist at the Manhattan School of Music and The Juilliard School and has been on the faculty of advanced studies with the National Children’s Chorus serving as the ear training coordinator for the Scholars program. Ms. Lee has been a guest teaching artist at Carnegie Hall\, Weill Music Institute\, working with NYC Public School teachers and also serves as the Program Coordinator for Partners at Third Street\, a program that provides free and low-cost music\, choral or dance group classes held at Third Street Music School. \nAbout the Series \nThird Street’s Live Sounds faculty concert series is free and open to the public on select Fridays at 7:00 p.m. in the Anna-Maria Kellen Concert Hall at Third Street Music School (235 East 11th Street). \nThe series presents a wide range of solo and collaborative performances highlighting many genres\, instrumentation\, and composers and spotlights the world-class professional teaching artists at Third Street. \nMost concerts are also live streamed free at www.thirdstreet.nyc at the performance times
