DESCRIPTION:The Kosciuszko Foundation is pleased to present a piano recital by Mateusz Mikolajczak\, a Polish pianist recognized as one of the most promising talents of his generation. The program will include Chopin’s expressive Nocturne in C-sharp minor\, Beethoven’s mighty Appassionata Sonata\, and Prokofiev’s dynamic Sonata No. 8\, among other selections. A wine reception will follow the recital. \nMateusz Mikolajczak is a laureate of prestigious competitions\, he has won 2nd Prize at the 2024 Mieczysław Munz Juilliard Piano Competition\, 3rd Prize at the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition (2022)\, and 1st Prize at the Karol Lipiński International Piano Competition (2019). \nHe has performed at renowned venues across Europe\, the USA\, and Asia. He made his Carnegie Hall debut in November 2024 and his Lincoln Center debut at Alice Tully Hall in February 2025. He is mainly known for his affinity for the music of Prokofiev and Rachmaninoff and his interpretations of Chopin and Liszt. \nMateusz has studied under Milana Chernyavska\, Claudio Martínez Mehner\, and currently pursues his Master’s degree at The Juilliard School under Soyeon Kate Lee.
